Great training starts with a great instructional design. This workshop teaches you how to develop instructionally sound courses that elicit meaningful participation, provide challenging content and achieve the learning objectives.

No matter what your delivery format – face-to-face, online, self-paced – you’ll be able to design a compelling workshop.

What you will learn – learning objectives:

This workshop follows the “industry standard” ADDIE model. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to design & develop training courses.

Given a training need and an audience profile, workshop participants will be able to:

  • Gather information and write the key points.
  • Write learning objectives.
  • Sequence the learning objectives.
  • Select appropriate instructional strategies.
  • Design the learning activities.
  • Format the design document.

Learning Lab:
During the workshop, you will get structured time to apply what you are learning to an actual workshop that you are developing.

We keep the number of participants low so that each participant receives plenty of coaching and personal attention.

Bring your subject materials and laptop so we can work on your workshop together.

Presenter: 
KRIS SCHAEFFER has 36 years of experience in Training & Organization Development. She has designed the instructional strategy and systems for clients such as the American Institute of CPAs, National Institute of Certified College Planners, Pacific Bell, and Allenbrook (business enterprise software). Kris has also trained many trainers how to design training. Kris Schaeffer & Associates has 100+ copyrighted training programs and has designed training programs for many clients.
 
Kris was trained in Education and Adult Learning Theory at Creighton University and the University of Michigan.  She was certified in CPLP in 2008.
