  • BOARD-LEVEL POSITIONS

All board positions report to the President
Complete job descriptions available on request
Please email Marsha Sheahen at sheahenm@sbcglobal.net

Board-level positions require a commitment through 2011. In addition to responsibilities specific to the named position, Board members are required to attend monthly board meetings, and actively engage in running the chapter. All positions are volunteer, but candidates must interview with the Board members, and be voted into the position by the entire Board to be accepted. It’s not as scary as it sounds, but is a higher level of responsibility and commitment than committee positions.

Because a successful transition to the Board is facilitated with early involvement, all Board positions are available for consideration, though responsibilities for many will not start until autumn 2010.

    POSITIONS CURRENTLY OPEN:

    PRESIDENT ELECT
Prepare to assume the President position in 2011. Preside over any Board meetings or events in the absence of the President. Assist with other Board roles as necessary.

    2011 POSITIONS:

    CFO
Manage all finances for the chapter – pay bills, develop and maintain budget, oversee expenses, inform Board on financial performance, advise on fiduciary matters, maintain Quickbooks, work with accountant on tax filings

    VP SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS
Manage SIGs, direct activities, encourage participation. Ensure vitality of SIGS by monitoring SIG leaders, establishing regular meetings and agendas, providing creative ideas for involvement in chapter programs. Also responsible for oversight of Community Outreach Program (COP).

    VP TECHNOLOGY (new)
Advise Board on use of, and administer or oversee, chapter technologies; including collaboration site, social networking, webinar platforms, website, event registration, membership administration, wikis, etc.

    VP PROGRAMS
Organize monthly programs based on member survey and topics of interest to our membership. Manage committee members who coordinate speaker, venue, catering, etc.
