COP OVERVIEW: How COP Works

Q: Who can volunteer?

A: Everyone. Any ATSD member with time and energy to contribute to serving the nonprofit community.

Q: How are projects organized?

A: COP volunteers work in teams so that more experienced COP volunteers mentor others.

Q: What are the steps involved for each nonprofit engagement?

A: A COP project follows these steps:
  1. Outreach to the nonprofit community to identify qualified nonprofits
  2. Conduct a Needs Analysis interview to determine whether the a training need
  3. Match the training need with COP volunteers to staff the project
  4. Conduct a data-gathering interview to tailor the workshop to the nonprofit
  5. Design, develop, and deliver the workshop
  6. Project evaluation and archiving
Q: What methods are used?

A: The COP employees industry standard instructional design processes, proven training project management systems and online collaboration technology to ensure we create high-quality training solutions that can be replicated by other ASTD chapters.

Q: What training is available for COP volunteers?

A: COP provides in-service training for volunteers. Our internal workshops include:
